Lisa C. Slater, CPA

Lisa has been preparing tax returns for clients since 2006.

Originally from the Houston, Texas area, Lisa spent several years in Michigan, where she began her accounting education in 2008. Her initial goal was to obtain an associate degree. However, once she began, she quickly realized she wanted her bachelor’s degree, which naturally lead to her master’s degree and CPA.

Lisa attended Northwestern Michigan College for her Associates graduating with honors as a Phi Theta Kappa Member and followed pursuing her Bachelor’s in Accountancy at Ferris State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then attended Grand Canyon University to obtain a Master's in Accountancy, graduating with honors.

After her educational endeavors, she studied and sat for her CPA and now holds active CPA licenses in Michigan and Texas. Lisa now calls Bastrop, Texas home.

Ostella has worked in a variety of industries ranging from hotel & hospitality, advertising & marketing, and the performing arts to finance, education, and community building. Over her 25+ years of experience, Ostella has worn many hats in various capacities but gradually found herself drawn to managing and optimizing organizational tools, resources, processes, and operations so that companies can focus on doing the right things instead of wondering if they’re doing things the right way.

Ostella holds a Diploma in Liberal Arts from Santa Monica College, a BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, and a Diploma in Dance Studies from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is also a certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.
